Varanasi Namo Ghat Aarti

Varanasi, also known as Benares or Kashi, is the spiritual heart of India is one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, located on the banks of the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains, famous for its 80+ ghats, intense, and ancient, spiritual energy.

Ganga Aarti is a daily evening ritual of fire, music, and chanting performed on the banks of the Ganges to honour the river as a goddess and mother. It represents deep gratitude, purification of the soul, reverence for nature, and the triumph of light over darkness.

We arrived in the afternoon and journeyed to the Namo ghat for the evening Aarti, Axel’s first – It was everything and more: the intensity of aliveness in all of its exalted exuberant expressions – Spirit fills the evening through sacred gestures & sounds in ritual, providing a rich and wild cacophony, filling the airs, a non stop feast for the senses. We were enraptured and humbled, to drink in the beauty of the divine, grateful to receive this precious powerful experience together.

Enjoy beloveds!
