The sun temple in Konark a 13th-century CE Hindu temple near the coastline of Odisha, India. The temple is designed as a chariot consisting of 24 such wheels. Each wheel has a diameter of 9Â feet, 9Â inches, with 8Â spokes. What remains today is still very impressive although the tallest part is only the remaining assembly hall while the asjacent main sanctum sanctorum (vimana) was much higher (70 meter). I went there on my own as Leeliu was already in Chiang Mai, waiting for me while I had 5 days of adventure on my own.
